Elissa Miller's practice focuses on creditors' rights, business and commercial litigation. She is a member of the Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Panel of Trustees appointed by the Office of the United States Trustee. She represents creditors, creditors' committees and trustees in bankruptcy cases. She also represents business clients in complex cases in all state and federal courts. Ms. Miller was counsel for several creditors’ committees in various cases involving entertainment companies, restaurant chains and real estate developers and holders of large real estate portfolios. She has represented numerous creditors in health care related cases. Ms. Miller is currently involved in, among other cases, several of the large real estate cases currently pending, represents a surety bond company in a large trucking bankruptcy case, and the trustee in a multi-faceted complex Chapter 7 case.
Ms. Miller is a member of the Insolvency Law Committee of the Business Section of the State Bar of California; a member of the Board of the Los Angeles Bankruptcy Forum, and a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association; Financial Lawyers Conference; and the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) and National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees. She is a former officer/board member of the Women's Clinic & Family Counseling Center, a Los Angeles community based health and counseling center.
Ms. Miller has recently spoken before the Los Angeles Bankruptcy Forum, the Panel Trustee for the Central District of California and has been a panelist on a Webinar sponsored by the Insolvency Law Committee.
After graduating college but prior to attending law school, Ms. Miller worked for several years with a major homebuilder based in Southern California and at a turn-key development company. Ms. Miller received her B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles, and her J.D., with honors, from Southwestern University School of Law.
